Wandering emu

Wandering emu
One of the two emus (see also PiP) started to wander in my direction. Time to be cautious! It didn't create any problems though.

It pays to be cautious George....two superb pictures though. They look quite prehistoric.

We don't see many of these in our garden, George. ;-)
How likely are they too attack? It has got its beady eye on you.

Thanks, Amelia, I guess they are a little uncommon over there. :-) Out in the open they would stay away, but in the National Park there's always the chance they've had more contact with people, possibly been fed picnic scraps etc. In close quarters they can sometimes peck or, worse, kick with their strong legs and sharp toes.

They look big enough to be a problem if they copped a 'tude! ;)
