New moon

New moon
It was just too hard to resist a fairly clear sky (some low cloud at left horizon) and a new moon. This covers about 180 degrees (stitched panorama). The local town throws up some light at the right. Needs to be viewed large. EDIT: I've now edited and replaced this with a different projection.

Wonderful dear George and I´m glad to see all the notes, you and Steve added! That´s worth a lot of stars from me******

Well exposed, George! I've never seen the southern sky. Alpha Centauri should be in the vicinity of the Southern Cross, IIRC.

Thanks, Steve. I've now added a note to identify it, also Canopus.

Only Canopus is sometimes visible at our latitude, very low in the southern sky at the right time of year!

Wow! A superb rendition of this scene George. Puts my feeble efforts to shame. If only I could see the sky like this. Very well done ☼
