This is the type of photo that actually depends on equipment. I would not have managed this without a camera with a high shooting speed, and a decent tele lens. When I shot this I was maxing out the D300's 6 fps shooting speed. If I had settled for a D90, or been recording in 14 bits, I would have missed the moment.
Shots like this has made me an equipment-addict...
