One shot from last summer. Here I tested a GIMP editing method I discovered some time ago, and improved it later on. More or less white washed layer is set for "Value" layer mode, to enhance the colors. Then duplicate layer set for something like "Hard light" is used to get back the dark shadows.

Another idea is to use "half frame" ;-)

without a doubt it is .... but I also like the quiet back streets
where you can wander around and get lost ... have been on
several photo shoots with (flickr friends) here and always
it is a wonderful experience ... and to get lost too ;-)

Yes, getting lost on some back street is the best part of Venice! =) A bit of taste how lab rat in a labyrinth may feel =D And still you feel yourself somewhat safe, knowing you will finally end up somewhere, when you walk long and far enough...
