Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to BluemanBTW, you were wondering about my flash: it's the Canon Ring Flash and can be adjusted very easily for exposure compensation, which is why I'm able to get a softer look. However, I'm actually waiting for a pair of diffusers to arrive, which will further soften that light and hopefully remove the hot-spots that appear whenever there is a shiny surface. You can see this flash here if you're interested: www.amazon.com/Canon-MT-24EX-Macro-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00006I548
I took a look at your camera, I've always been curious about them, since I had a PowerShot myself as my first camers (30SX IS). Looks like you have a nice camera, some nice features there. (This is the review I read: www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong12 )
There are many times when I am wistful about the instant switch from macro to telephoto that cameras like the PowerShots offer, but I am happy I moved up to a full DSLR. The ability to get the most out of a picture is worth the sorrow of losing out on versatility, and after comparing pictures with my husband when we'd take the same picture, he on our older 5D and me on my SX30IS, I just couldn't stand it anymore! :D We still use our 30SX IS for traveling though, it's so fun, versatile and easy to use! :)
Sami Serola (inactiv… club has replied to Janet Brien clubUnfortunately I can not invest on expensive lenses and ring flash, but I can keep on shooting what I can =D Although, I do have old Olympus DSLR and plenty of lenses for it. I'm just too lazy to carry them around, and therefore using Canon G12.
