Der Marktmeister kontrolliert vom Eckhaus Marktplatz und Brückenstraße das Marktgeschehen vom äußeren Winkel des Patrizierhauses. Das Haus und die Figur stammen aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. In Melsungen gibt es 970 Fachwerkhäuser. Sehr viele in einem gepflegten Zustand.
