I guess a little bit of the forest was sacrificed to make way for the golf course, but it looks man made or managed and the course seems to compliment the surroundings just the same.

Thanks for looking in Maurice; apparently the club was founded in 1896 and the course accommodated on farm land under agreement with the owner of Binton Farm (land subsequently purchased by the club). The woodland is managed in areas, some being part of the Hampton Estate, I believe.
