Fallow Deer

Fallow Deer
I was lucky enough to see this small herd of fallow deer, mostly Does and young Fawns. As soon as they saw me, they were quick to leave, as seen in the first PiP! Continuing the walk I saw a Buck in the distance. The photo is not great but the best I could do in the circumstances. 2nd PiP.

Better viewed large.

J. Gafarot, Marco F. Delminho, Holger Hagen, HelenaPF and 34 other people have particularly liked this photo

A fantastic little series Rosa.............such a lovely sight and pretty close by too.

I think you did very well to capture these............the light in the second PiP with the buck is not brilliant.........but it's a very nice record shot of a great occasion.

I particularly like the image in the first PiP with them streaming uphill after they spotted you!

Very nice work!
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Keith Burton club
Thank you very much Keith. I watched them from a distance for some time, before I decided to try and get closer. It didn't take them long to spot me, and they soon scarpered!

I couldn't see the buck very well until I trained the camera on the small bunch of them. I took many shots, but this was the best of them.

In the PiP of them streaming up the hill, it's not easy to see, but the last one stayed for a while just looking at me, then quickly caught the others up!

What a wonderful series of images Rosa. It must have been a joy to see them and watch them for a while. Super shots, - it is good you managed to get a shot of the buck as well. I particularly like the one of them all climbing the hill, - like a line of schoolchildren - and there is always one that hangs back for a better look!!!!

Have a good week ahead

A very nice set of pictures, which I like very much!
Wonderful when you can get to see these animals in the wild when you have a camera handy.
As you said, approach carefully!! (But I am no expert at wild animal pictures..)
Best Wishes, Happy Monday, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!

I love this photo, Rosa. Not only does it have a very interesting subject, but has an amazing three-dimensional effect due to the play between light and shadow. The last time I saw fallow deer it was in the park (can't remember the name of it) just outside Kilmarnock. Cheers, Joe

Bonitas imágenes de gamos y ciervos. Parece que tienen más hijos y sentido familiar que los humanos. Y está claro que no tienen el instinto de destrucción de los bípedos.
