BTW, this reminds me of my canal boat cruise in France (Bourgogne) many years ago. It was fun, but hard work to operate the locks every 2 or 3 kms!!

Thank you very much Edna. I have seen quite a few canals in France on a TV programme. They all look very nice :-) I agree, the locks are hard work. There is a stretch of over 20 along this particular canal! That'll build your muscles up :)

Yep, we were on the Canal de Bourgogne and there were countless locks. Working them may have built up my muscles, but that was years ago. They may have shrunk again in the meantime ;-))
