An attractive building and I love the light on the facade Rosa. It is nice that they have the plaque on the wall. I imagine this is not the only event to suffer finncial hardship in these times but I hope thye find the resources to stage the event again next year.

A nice looking pub..........I like the red brickwork. I wouldn't call it beautiful, but rather quite utilitarian, but very attractive none-the-less. I bet it's lovely inside.

Interesting information on the blue plaque and more in the link. Such a shame the steam fair has been cancelled this year. I might consider going next year! I went to a small on in Devon a few years back and quite enjoyed it (and got some nice photos). www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/23816383

A custom-built pub I would think Keith. It is very typical inside and has a good reputation.

It is a shame that this years steam fair is cancelled. My neighbour stays there for the 3 days in their motor home and it's very popular with people coming from all over Europe. I will warn you that it's very noisy and you've never seen steam like it ;-)) Very lively in the evenings, with lots of entertainment. I last went 7 years ago, but just for a day.

It's too bad that the steam fair had to be canceled this year. That's an event I'd love (and have attended over here a couple of times...the ones here were not world famous, but tons of fun). I do hope the pub is still open, so at least there would be refreshing drinks :-)

It's a massive fair Edna and a lot of people stay for the three days, but I have only ever been for a day...that's enough for me ;-)) The pub is still open and two in neighbouring villages have just reopened with new owners after closing due to the pandemic!

The Royal Oak looks magnificent from outside, I suppose the interiour matches. Well taken with not a car in sight!

A pity about the steam fair. Costs just get out of hand, so they either reduce the size of events or have them only every other year.

One of the problems here is people bringing their own drinks instead of buying so the organizers don't make enough to cover costs. Just imagine people bringing their own wine bottles but expecting to have them opened and get glasses for free....

The interior is very typical of a village pub Gudrun. I expect you can imagine that.
Yes it is a shame that rising costs have curtailed many events. Let's hope things settle down next year and they can all recover.

It is a pity people decide to bring their own drinks and often their own food to events. It's one of the joys of going to them, to sample the food and drinks :-(

An interesting old pub where I'd happily try a beer (or two) while looking for the blue plaque. The steam fair sounds good, I hope it runs as planned next year and that you're able to bring us some images then.
