Whitby Abbey

Whitby Abbey
Whitby Abbey was a 7th-century Christian monastery that later became a Benedictine abbey. The abbey church was situated overlooking the North Sea on the East Cliff above Whitby in North Yorkshire. A centre of the medieval Northumbrian kingdom

Views that inspired Bram Stoker and his Dracula novels, when he first visited in 1890.

I don't think it was in a better condition when Stoker saw it. It must have been its position, high above the town, the wind (maybe) and dark cloudy conditions. Oh, I think I could write a book now ;-)) Thank you very much Eric.
