HFF from Swanage Pier!
Swanage Pier is Victorian and is one of just a few wooden piers left in UK. It was built in 1895 for passenger ship services. It still has daily ferries between Poole Harbour and Swanage. A trust took on the task of raising over £1,000,000 needed to carry out major restoration work on the pier's piles, timbers and ironwork fittings. It was reopened in 1998, after a period of decline.

Thank you very much. I am pleased you like it. There is a diving and sailing school along the pier. It is kept it good order by a Trust and they do a fine job. There is a small charge to help with the upkeep, which I am more than happy to pay. Best regards Jose Manuel.

It is true that the younger generations surprise us here and there with their commitment, which contrasts with the image of screen addicts that we may have and that the media give of them. It's indeed encouraging as well as reassuring about the message we want to give them.

At the end of the pier it is possible to view the work they are undertaking below the boardwalk,
which is very interesting and good to see.
