The first camelias make a wonderful splash of colour! These like rhododendrons and hydrangeas have trouble growing in our chalky soils,so we hardly ever seee them here.

That is interesting Gudrun, we have trouble growing them in my garden. I have given up now but you are right, they give lovely early colour.
