Common blue female.

Common blue female.
Can anyone tell me the name of this very small butterfly, no more that a 3cm wing span? I have come up with 2 possibilities - Brown Argus or Silver Studded Blue, but not sure!!

Having looked at lots of pictures and sizes of particular butterflies, I now think this is a Common Blue female - Polyommatus icarus. So many look alike!!

Andy Rodker, Diane Putnam, , Bill Robinson / kinderbill and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

Ooh, lovely shot, Rosa! Any idea what the plant is? It reminds me of dusty miller, but that's not it.

Thanks Diane. I'm afraid I don't know what the plant is, sorry.

Excellent shot! (Apologies for cut and paste but it's difficult to comment individually on 2 week's worth of missed photos!!)
