The Pudding House, Montacute.

The Pudding House, Montacute.
This pavilion is one of two 'pudding houses' set into opposite corners of the East Court at Montacute House. The nickname comes from Tudor and Stuart times, when guests would retire here to enjoy their desserts after their meal.

I hope that coffee was served with pudding, Rosa. The meal wouldn't be complete without. ;-)

Quite right Amelia :)) You can just imagine how sweet their puddings were in those times with sugar being very expensive and an ingredient the rich were so fond of!! Cheers, Rosa.

I suppose it's no different to what is common in France and even I do it with my girlfriend in Madrid; have the starter and main course with wine etc at one restaurant and than stroll to a nearby cafe for coffee and/or pud!
