Costumed for fun in the Vintage Photos Theme Park
Doris and Dick, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, c. 1928. My uncle never gave up on the notion of being a cowboy. When war came he immediately enlisted in the last combat cavalry unit in the U.S. Army, which was converted to mechanized infantry shortly before being deployed for the Italian campaign. He eventually retired to Arizona and became a member of the mounted Sheriff's Posse near Phoenix.
