HFF!

HFF!
even though it isn't friday, i had to put something up that isn't my wrist fracture.

this is downtown Portland, Oregon. the Portland Outdoor Store has been there for many many decades. same company, same building it is now becoming one of the last few old buildings in its area (though we do preserve some very nice old buildings). the company is 100 years old this year.

Fred Fouarge, Erhard Bernstein, David G Johnson, Andy Rodker and 14 other people have particularly liked this photo

Terrific perspective and good notes explaining the history of the building Laura. Hope the wrist is healing well.

All the best, Doug

thanks, doug. and it's a fun store to go in. we buy my husband's belts there, but maybe it's time for me to get some real cowboy boots!

wrist is healing okay, but it is going to be a lengthy recovery. i have started a bit of photography again - helps take my mind off the pain.

right? it's not your normal vacant lot fence - need to find out what they are planning for that lot.

I hope the week is a good one for you and that the exercises aren't too strenuous for your wrist. It's good to see a store still in operation after so long.

thanks, Jenny. working on striking a balance between the exercises and the swelling/pain they can cause. i'll get there.
and yes, it's great to have this still in operation.

The Outdoor Store, Cameron's Books (<3 !) where I've purchased some of my best collage-fodder for almost nothing... How much longer before it's all condo-ed out of existence? Grrr...

ah yes, Cameron's! i can't tell what's happening with that block yet. i rarely go there, but it's a hoot when i do. bob dylan's been to Cameron's so you're in good company.

A very belated HFF Laura I hope your arm is improving, trying to demolish old buildings full of style is usual here, in Leicester they usually want to build student flats

arm is supposedly doing better, but so slow it's hard for me to tell.
i don't think this building is anything very special, but the business is.

thanks- it's a hoot to see, and you never know what you might discover you "need" when there.

wrist is very slow (still very hard to type 2 handed, for example, no wrist twisting to speak of) - but thanks for well wishes.

An interesting view..... Due to the Panoramio photo site.. I got to know and became pals with a youth who worked at 'Petersons' store on S.W Morrison street... we still mail - from time to time.
Have a good weekend... Cheers from David J'.. UK.

thanks. hope, if your friend was still working at Peterson's, they found work at one of the other Peterson stores as the Morrison one closed last January (remodel of parking garage it was attached to - stupidest remodel i've ever seen, they are still working on it).
do love that we make connections around the world through our photography!
have a good week.
