Das Lauberhornrennen findet seit 1930 jährlich in Wengen in der Schweiz statt. Benannt ist das Rennen nach dem 2'472 Meter hohen Lauberhorn, wo die Abfahrt beginnt.
Die Lauberhornabfahrt ist mit ca. 4,5 km Länge und mit Fahrzeiten um 2:30 Minuten die längste aller Abfahrten und weist mit knapp 160 km/h (100 miles/h) auch die höchste Maximalgeschwindigkeit auf.

Daniela, ist das so? Hast du das schweizerische Fernsehen nicht? Normalerweise werden Sportanlässe auf dem zweiten Sender SRF2 gesendet.

Hier sieht man nur um 20 Uhr die Nachrichten vom Tessin, RSI. auf dem 19, dass von der Provinz VCO ist. Sonst nichts.

Great to see this scene my friend. I too have skied this area. Although this shot is nice,I think the two PiPs are far better . I have the identical photo of the Eiger taken in 1989, framed here in my house still today. Love the ski patterns too.

The Eiger north face always is impressive. And yes, it hasn't change a lot during the last years. Let's have a look at it in another million years ;-)

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!The main picture is very nice and each of the insets are outstanding! They are all fantastic. I might like the ski tracks the most though, what a COOL THING TO SEE! Makes a glorious abstract and texture picture!

Thanks for the info too...do you race? One of my childhood friends did, she and her brothers went to a ski area many times each season and she was very good! :)

Yes, one of the traces was made by me, but I don't race. I skied a lot in my younger years. But now I drive down, as befits an elderly gentleman who has to take care of his bones. ;-))

Genau, da hab ich in Freiburg gearbeitet und am WE gabs da einen Bus. Im Morgengrauen hin und spät in der Nacht zurück. Was ich alles gefahren bin weiß ich nicht mehr genau aber geschreckt hat mich nichts. War toll aber ich hab deutlich länger als 2:30 gebraucht ;-))

Leo, du lachst jetzt, aber man macht sich schon Gedanken zu Geeschwindigkeitskontrollen auf den Skipisten. Es gibt da zum Teil schon richtige Raser.

Besonders auf den Weltcupstrecken sind manche versucht, es den Profis nachzumachen. In der Regel ist es dort so eisig, dass das nicht lange gut geht.

Leo, ja, ist hier auch so. Nach der Lauberhornabfahrt wird die Strecke hier wieder für alle freigegeben. Da haben jeweils oft auch einige das Gefühl, sie seien kleine Abfahrtsweltmeister ;-)
