1929 Diving Tower South Shore Lido Blackpool - Pritchards family album

1929 Diving Tower South Shore Lido Blackpool - Pritchards family album
One from the Pritchard & Sadler family archives. I cannot easily recognize any of the family in this shot, although it could be my mother with her brother, in the centre between the railings. Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of swimming pools.
I established that the family had visited Blackpool around this time. I then had to track down old photos of Blackpool at the time. That was unsuccessful. It wasn't until I started searching for diving boards and discovered that these structures were called diving towers, that I actually made progress and found out where this one was and what it was called.
I appear to have uploaded this photo twice, but as both have comments attached, I will leave both in my albums, but ensure that they only appear once in groups.

Wow, could anyone dive from the towers? I wonder how they avoided accidents. Quite interesting!

When trying to find the location I came across towers all around the coast. Some were much more architecturally designed. Search for lidos - especially in the 1930s and you will see.
