A great series from Portland. It brings back so many happy memories from my childhood. My father would take us us or Weymouth on many a summer Sunday.

We have only been there the once, while on a short break to Weymouth, from London. Before we retired we used to debate where we would like to settle. My wife favoured the Isle of Wight, but my vote was for Weymouth. When it came to it we ended up at Seaford in East Sussex in order to be fairly close to a grandson, who was having a hard time and needed to know we were within easy reach. We haven't regretted it. It is in a beautiful part of the coast close to Cuckmere Haven, between Brighton and Eastbourne, but I still hanker after Weymouth,

Where you eventually settled sounds lovely and best for your situation. I have stayed in Eastbourne a couple of times and enjoyed the area. All the best, Rosa.
