This is a great shot Phil.
So glad my pic of Wells Cathedral brought back many happy memories for you.

The lighting was a bit tricky. My shot from the other end of the boat suffered from facing into the light, which was a shame as the mother and the boy were very well sculpted as well. I have yet to find out who the sculptor is. If their details were posted nearby I missed them and none of the Historic England information about the exhibition has them.

It is, Roger. It is a shame that I haven't found out who the sculptor is, as I would be interested to see more of their work.

The whole presentation was very well done. Creating a good impression of the prisoners and their life in the castle. The information boards are copyright I believe, so I haven't reproduced any but the key one explaining the overall history. The castle's website has much of the information at the moment, but it is not a permanent exhibition.

Thanks, Christiane. The lighting was in reality more subdued, but I have brightened it a bit so that people can see the details of this evocative sculpture.
