Thanks, Amelia. The starting point was one of Photoshop's radial color gradients, with its start point at the top left. This was copied and subjected to one of their two 'distort - polar coordinates' tools.These twist images into the extreme curves clearly seen in the dark blue. This one does have one straight edge where the two edges of the original image meet. This was aligned with one of the radial rays. I think that doing it took much the same time as trying to describe it here!
