The project has turned a rather utilitarian breakwater into a meeting place and a sort of seaside memorial garden.
The cliffs on the left are the nesting place of a fair-sized colony of Kittiwakes.

Well - this is very unique. A really good way to protect the coastline. We must pay a visit there to have a look at the sculptures and the area. I wish you'd map your photos, Phil.

The basic breakwater has been there for a good few years, but it was a pretty functional concrete & steel slab, protecting the western end of Seaford Head's chalk cliffs and also stopping the shingle beach being swept away. Seaford's seafront has been pretty uninspiring, but the Shoal is one of a series of new initiatives that it is hoped will improve its appeal.
I take your point about the location markers. I am a bit lazy - and forgetful. I do usually include places in the captions of my photos though.
