Interesting. Are the faces of specific people? Collectively honoured for something?

Terry Cavanagh, in his invaluable reference book, Public Sculpture in South London, has identified three of the four, all with medical connections. On the left is William Harvey 1578- -1657, who discovered the circulation of blood. The next face had yet to be identified in the book. Hippocrates of Cos, credited as the founder of scientific medicine, second from the right. On the right is Sir Astley Paston Cooper, 1768 - 1841, who followed his father as a surgeon at Guys Hospital and who also lectured and wrote text books.
The poet John Keats trained as a surgeon at Guy's. I assume that is why the building is named after him. I think that the fourth face may be his. There is a sculpture of him in the hospital grounds and I think that the face and clothing are very similar. www.london-se1.co.uk/news/view/2984>

edit - As you can see your inquiry has prompted me to add the names to the collage

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about Keats being a surgeon, not being much into poetry and poets.
