HFF - Does the type of fence matter? - Newhaven - 6.7.2015

HFF - Does the type of fence matter? - Newhaven - 6.7.2015
I recently saw a perfectly good landscape cut across by a couple of strands of barbed wire. I don't know whether the HFF greeting attached was a friendly one or one in a more ironic sense. Anyway I remembered I had this shot of the added security around an electricity sub-station, next to a large post box, of convenient height to allow miscreants to hop over the fence should they want to. So it being Friday I thought I would offer it - with the warmest of good wishes for the weekend!

I was going to say 'eye-catching', but that would be painful! I hope the rest of the weekend is good for you.

Wow, definitely an interesting fence! Why only in the corners this particular protection?

Belated HFF and a sunny weekend!

Just to the right of the picture is a large red postbox about 1.5 metres high. It is for franked commercial mail from the industrial and commercial businesses nearby. It is a suitable height for people to climb on and then roll over the top of the mesh fence and into the electricity sub-station's yard. The fence is about 3 metres high with closely spaced mesh, so for the casual vandal or thrill seeker, it is a reasonably secure boundary, except at that corner, where the height is reduced, by the presence of the post box.
I hope your weekend is a pleasant one.

Ouch, that fence is certainly a bit offputting- but a perfect contribution. HFF!
