Is this Hastings as in the TV series Foyles War?

Beach? It looks like Sturt's Stony Desert, an inland area here is Oz..

Yes, it is the Hastings of Foyles' War. Much of the Sussex coast in southern England has shingle beaches. Eastbourne and Brighton are other, major, seaside resorts with mainly shingle beaches. Our own town of Seaford only sees sand at very low tide. Our shingle is reformed to provide sea defence banks. I assume that without the intervention we would see sand in more areas.
