If you are only a foot high with large floppy ears that catch the wind, you should be scared! For larger folk there are railings around the upper area of the breakwater. I came away before high tide, which was an hour or two later.

The force as it rolls in is huge, but the really scary thing is the sound as it drags the shingle back with it. You know that you wouldn't stand a chance of escaping from it.
