Royal Canadian Engineers Dieppe Raid Memorial, Newhaven

Royal Canadian Engineers Dieppe Raid Memorial, Newhaven
This is one of three war memorials on War Memorial Green, Newhaven, East Sussex. The inscription reads:
LEST WE FORGET
TO THE MEMORY OF THE
MEMBERS OF THE CORPS OF
ROYAL CANADIAN ENGINEERS
WHO LOST THEIR LIVES
IN THE RAID ON DIEPPE
FRANCE - 19TH AUGUST 1942
NEWHAVEN WAS AN
EMBARKATION POINT
and then goes on to list those who died. I did photograph these, but as can be seen above, the mottled stone and gilded lettering together do not make for easy reading. If anyone wants to see the lower area I shall be pleased to either upload it or send jpegs to them.

Hello Don
It will be easiest if I email the jpegs to you. You can reach me at philsutters@googlemail.com I have had a look at them and if one magnifies them, the inscriptions are pretty clear. Should any not be clear enough, I would be very happy to take further photos. I shall be in Newhaven on Saturday, but I only live a few miles away so can return easily at any time.
This area has strong connections with the Canadian forces serving here in both world wars, so I am very pleased to help. There are at least two graves of Canadian Officers from WW1, in our town cemetery at Seaford. I will add photos to the RCE memorial ones.
Best wishes
Phil
