It may be debatable whether this is a fence or not. All I would say is that if the nice sculptural metal-work was not there, there would be a chain-link fence there to stop balls and other objects flying over the wall into a very busy road.
So HFF all and have a good weekend!

Beautiful composed view in a great light - and it's definitely a fence and even a pretty one, well except for the black ribbon maybe! ;-DD

Thanks, Dida and HFF to you.
The black 'ribbon' represents an aerial view of the River Thames from near Vauxhall in the west to Greenwich in the east. The school is located near the centre about 0.5km to the south of the river.

It definitely classifies as a fence- and a very elaborate one! HFF, Phil!

Thank you, Gudrun. This area has a strong tradition of art in public places and it was good to see an old school with a new and attractive feature on its outer face.
HFF and have a good weekend.

Looks like they spent a lot of money on this fence. Questions will be asked.

Who knows - they might have had a sponsor or a PTA fund raiser. What ever - HFF Steve.

Perhaps you wouldn't put a map of the Parrett on your local school - but that aerial view of the Thames appears a lot in London - it is a recognised fairly unspecific London graphic. A lot of people also recognise it from the intro East Enders.
HFF and have a go

I see fences within a fence. Most unusual.
