Butterflies and Moths
I messed this album up too by accidently deleting. I have lost comments.. I have tried to reload the photos though

The butterflies are very slow coming.. they were last year. This year the flowers are slow coming as well... so its for the best.

Rare to see these here.
Its noticeable that the few butterflies that are here so far.... are mostly at edge of range and up from the South. It isnt one type.. but 4 different ones in two days and one last week.

Well... not a great photo but a "one shot and that's all I got" photo !!
As much as this is well inside their big range... this is the first I have seen here in 3 years !

There must have been a hatching of these.. there were at least 7-8 flitting around... at speed !!

A pair of these are still giving me the run-around ! Then they vanish.... you can hear them laughing !

With so very few butterflies this year..... this is the second Mexican Yellow I have seen. We are on the edge if its range here.

These are even more impossibly hyper than the Snowberry Clearwings !!!!

She was a tired little one that finally let me pick her up off the grass and place her on a flower to drink nectar.
Red Underwing Moth (Catocala Ilia)
I think he was trying to find a place to die quietly till I came along with a camera.
EXPLORED !
Gulf Fritillary (f) (Agraulis vanillae)
Been so very few this year. The plants are there... the weather is very very different to normal.
There are just a very few butterflies.. and even now almost no honey bees but now at last some Sweat Bees and Bumbles.
In a normal year I would see these Gulf Fritillaries on a daily basis in reasonable numbers. This year... this is ONLY the 4th I have seen
Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia)
Snowberry Clearwing Moth (Hemaris diffinis)
Well these little Sweethearts are outnumbering the butterflies by a long way this year !
I am getting more chances at a better shot !
