The butterflies are very slow coming.. they were last year. This year the flowers are slow coming as well... so its for the best. EXPLORED !

Rare to see these here. Its noticeable that the few butterflies that are here so far.... are mostly at edge of range and up from the South. It isnt one type.. but 4 different ones in two days and one last week.

With so very few butterflies this year..... this is the second Mexican Yellow I have seen. We are on the edge if its range here.

Been so very few this year. The plants are there... the weather is very very different to normal. There are just a very few butterflies.. and even now almost no honey bees but now at last some Sweat Bees and Bumbles. In a normal year I would see these Gulf Fritillaries on a daily basis in reasonable numbers. This year... this is ONLY the 4th I have seen

Well these little Sweethearts are outnumbering the butterflies by a long way this year ! I am getting more chances at a better shot !
