Looks ideally suited for modern eremitic lifestyles. Mondrian would feel at home.

I’m not sure about Mondrian, Steve, rather lacking in primary colours, I fear. The lamp-post on the left, however, is an almost perfect facsimile of the pillar atop which the eremite, Simeon Stylites lived for some 35 years in the early 5th century CE. The modern version has electricity, of course, but has abandoned the platform on which Simeon sat.

(Apropos of nothing, in the early 1960s I received a one-hour detention at school for enquiring about Simeon’s sanitary arrangements whilst isolated for those 35 years. Our Classics master felt I was being far too frivolous and smutty. He was probably right, although the other boys in the form tittered and thus the detention was perhaps a warning pour encourager les autres not to ask such questions. Ho hum, the mists of time draw their veils over such things.)

your question was really natural, but Simeon did all physical needs naturally too, maybe without warning people staring at him.........

Mondrian was really colorful in second phase, when about his trees there are some similitude of color with facade but not in design which was very dynamic,
but Adolph Loos should be satisfied, for him all decoration was a crime.......

Thanks, Damir. I've just looked at some information about Adolf Loos and see what you mean. Very stark and Shaker-like in its plain-ness.

I wonder if some architect won an award for this imaginative building? Well recorded, John.

You're possibly correct, George. Industry awards are given for the strangest things and for the least understandable motives. Well, least understandable to we mortals. I do rather like the building, however. I have this "thing" for symmetry in architecture (as you might have noticed over the years) and love the ordinariness of vernacular housing.
