Today's SSC - Theme - pet animal in b/w
made me thinking...
Why is it so that I cannot get a decent portrait of my fur baby?
Then I found this old photo and an answer to my question:
The only way to have her not moving is to waste her playing with her to the point when she is totally exhausted . But then she lays down and is not cooperating either.
It started when she was a puppy. Now, 11 years later she still does it to me whenever I want to shoot her.
Oh, I know that she is an old lady now, but she remains my fur baby. Ever will.

Another casual (rather old) shot from my family album.
These were happy days, even when snow was lacking (on New Year's Eve!)

Hats and umbrellas were blue and pink,
but I didn't like the colors.

Unexpected consolation to loosing 10 years of digital photo archives kept on a hard drive.
I browsed contents of some forgotten CDs and found a real treasure trove of happy moments captured when my Dad was with us and my house was awaiting renovation.

Mom

It is Mother's Day today in Poland.
It is my Mom.
I took this shot nine years ago.
Now she is 90 years old and ailing.
Pain in her spine is so severe that she cannot tend to her favorite flowers anymore.
But today she bravely swallowed a double dose of painkillers
and managed to board my car.
We went together to our polling station, so that her vote in the European elections in 2019 will count :)
Obviously the local election committee was impressed by her spirit and acuity.
Well, how could they know that she still is an avid Internet user and keeps up-to-date with everything what is going on around :)
Hooray to all Moms!!!

That's my Mom in 1951, around the time when she met my Dad:
Now her body fails her, but she has the same soul of a winner (she was a decorated yachtswoman then).
