Thank you so much! Enjoy your great weekend, my friends.

And please wish me patience and luck with repairing one fatally corrupted GPT harddisk - actually the same that I use to dump my digital photo stuff on. I know that data is still there but making it reachable / recovering it can take hours or even days. How frustrating!

Magnificent shot, Marta! (Oh no, sorry about your disk trouble!)

Thank you, Diane!

My disk is unfortunately more messed up than I thought.
What's most annoying... I cared for it, I monitored its health looking into its S.M.A.R.T. status every day. Unfortunately my everyday monitoring tools did not caught some internal troubles lurking undetected. Only after some deeper investigation I found how fooled I was ;/
Oh well, some data is still there. But many files were partially overwritten with some garbage. I am starting to accept the fact that my recent digital photo archives are gone. Not that they were particularly valuable ;) So no big deal!

Oh no! That happened to me, once, and it was very upsetting! A computer repair man recovered some of it, but a lot was gone and the computer never worked well after that. So, I bought a new one instead of repairing that one further. ;-(

Bad news is that I am kinda of computer girl myself. So this mishap is a blame on my reputation ;/
Good new is that I am kinda of computer girl myself. So I am confident that can recover some files from the damaged disk :)
And I've already bought two heavy-duty WDC Purple disks (used for monitoring 24/7) to replace the damaged one.
