I wonder what this grape variety is? Very different looking bunch to what one normally sees. I see it is destined for very sweet wine.

Then you confused me with the title; 'Beerenauslese' which I thought referred to a category of very fine sweet wine, often from the Riesling grape and I can see that this is not any grape that I know. A wild variety maybe but I would love to know what it is! You say 'berry' not grape and I am even more confused.

sorry for the confusion which is mainly caused by language. A "Beerenauslese" is indeed a category of wine. Why they use "Beerenauslese" instead of "Traubenauslese" I don't know. But a "Traube" (grape) is also a berry. I chose the title because the topic was berries and I show a number of different berries (a "Äuslese"). The main picture shows the "Mahonienbeere"

Beautiful series. Beautiful light. I especially like the hypericum and the main shot. Lovely bloom on the berries.
