Langstone Harbour (+PiP)
Taken during a morning walk at low tide yesterday. The old railway sleepers act as sea defences. I think it looks best viewed large, on black.
The view in the other direction can be seen in the PiP if you have time to look.
HMS Warrior 1860

Berthed in the Royal Navy Dockyard Portsmouth, Hampshire. Now a museum ship and open to the public.
An interesting history of this beautiful old warship here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Warrior_(1860)

Upside-down Flowers
These were hanging upside-down to dry in one of the gardener's sheds in West Dean Gardens, West Sussex. The were so pretty, I couldn't resist taking a photo.
Egg-shaped Vase with Flower and Leaves.

A vaguely autumn-themed still life image photographed yesterday. I'm currently in the throes of a stinking cold with a cough.......so I'm staying indoors for day or two.
The flower came from a pot in my front garden, the leaves I collected and dried last week (also from the garden). The background was a sheet of card from a craft shop with a subtle texture added in post processing..
The egg-shaped vase I found recently in a charity shop and liked it so much that I bought it especially to use in photos, so you'll probably be seeing it again.
Have a splendid weekend y'all.
Sycamore Seed
I noticed this Sycamore seed had lodged itself into the top of a rotting fence post in my garden.
The lens I used is not strictly a macro lens, but it does have a macro setting which is pretty good for this sort of subject!
The Calm after the Storm
Taken from Exmouth beach, Devon on the day after Storm Ciarán. Looking in the other direction (left of this scene), the sky was still grey and miserable in the distance.
Better viewed large I think.
Ox-Eye Daisy
Captured with a visiting fly...............although I didn't have a macro lens with me, so the fly is very small in the frame.
Sea Horses (+PiP)
I have no idea how these lovely creatures came to be dried out, but I found them in a bag of sea shells I bought in a charity shop.
The sea shells are shown in the PiP.
Black Eyed Susan
River Tamar, Saltash, Cornwall (+PiP)
During our recent visit to Devon, we took the opportunity to drive to Saltash in Cornwall to spend the day with my wife's sister. It rained very heavily most of the day, but I managed to get out for a short time between the heavy showers to grab a few photos.
Please view this one large, for best effect. There is another view in the PiP. Thanks for looking and have a nice Sunday.
Langstone Harbour View (+PiP)
The view from Langstone Harbour looking towards the road bridge, which is the only route on and off Hayling Island (except by boat). Best viewed large, if you have time.
The PiP shows a slightly different perspective and was taken around an hour and a half later when the sun was coming out to play.
Thanks for looking..........and have a lovely weekend..!!

Fallen Leaves

Unfortunately I had to go out in the wind and rain yesterday to get some errands done. I decided to leave the car at home and travelled by train. I took my camera "just in case" as I always do. I spotted this little scene when I was walking home from the train station and grabbed this shot.
Anyway, I think I've caught up with everyone's photos. I apologise if I've missed you. There were so many photos that I couldn't possibly comment on each one, so I used the yellow star button quite a lot as well :-))
Enjoy the rest of your week!
Exmouth Beach, Devon (+PiP)
Taken the day after Storm Ciarán passed through. Although some parts of the South West were hit pretty hard, there was very little damage in Exmouth. I didn't go out during the storm and certainly not anywhere near the beach, but the following day was very calm, despite a lot of heavy rain showers, and the sun even broke through the clouds, but only briefly!
Another image of the beach in the PiP.
I'm doing my best to catch up with everyone (and fully utilising the yellow star button), please bear with me! I can't believe the amount of photos people have posted since I was away :-)

These three pieces of art were all part of the Street Art Festival 2023, which took place in September.
This one is by JENKS. I couldn't find a website for him but his Facebook page is here: www.facebook.com/jenksart1/about
The artist in the First PiP is Andrew Foster. His Facebook page is here: www.facebook.com/andrew.foster.artist
The artist in the Second PiP is Mark Kellett. His Facebook page is here: www.facebook.com/markkellettart
I shall be away for around a week or so in Devon, visiting family. I probably won't have time to post any photos or visit and comment on your photos, but I may pop in depending on what we're doing.
I hope you've all had a good Sunday and are looking forward to the week ahead.
Dying Leaves
These are from a Horse Chestnut tree..........a lot of which are affected by some sort of blight, which you can clearly see here.
In the right light they can still be quite beautiful though............
Autumn Leaves
These leaves from my garden got wet in the rain, so I thought I'd bring them indoors to dry :-)
Taken in natural light. The background is one of the walls in my living room and the texture and border was added in post processing
