Leigh Park Gardens
Another image from my walk around these beautiful gardens last Tuesday afternoon. I spent a couple hours there after the rain and only saw about 5 or 6 people. In the summer it gets very busy, especially during the school. holidays as it is free to enter (rare nowadays)!
Tree Stump Sculpture (+PiP)

The sun came out and It stoped raining for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon and I decided to take a quick trip to Leigh Park Gardens, Havant, Hampshire. which is around a 10 minute drive from my house.
This is one of the tree stump sculptures in the grounds. Please see the PiP for another example.

Another raid on my wife's sewing equipment..!!
I bought her this sewing machine when we lived in Malta..........as a present for our first wedding anniversary. We will have been married for 52 years next month..........and she still loves it (and me hopefully)! The patterns in this image are from the same period.
She used to make clothes for herself and our two daughters when they were young. Nowadays it's kept mainly for making repairs!
Beach Life
Cup and Saucer
A very simple still-life image of this lovely little cup and saucer set, which I purchased in a local charity shop.
All is not as it seems though............the cup and saucer are actually glued together. You can then tie a length of string through the handle, put some bird seed in the cup and saucer and hang it in a tree.
Now I've taken the photo, I'll be doing exactly that!
Magnolia Macro (+PiP)
This lovely magnolia flower came from my neighbours garden. I took it indoors to photograph and, as you can see, I removed a few petals to expose the heart of the flower. The lighting came from a hand held LED panel.
There is an image of the whole flower in the PiP if you are interested.
Fun with Baby :-))
I did a double-take when I saw this contraption in a vintage shop in Bognor Regis. Thankfully, the "baby" turned out to be a realistic looking doll.
During WWII, babies had special gas-respirators like this one. When all the flaps were folded in place and the straps fastened the baby was totally enclosed. Filtered air was then pumped in by hand.
Beach Miscellany

Continuing the beach theme from yesterday.......here is some more things I found to photograph on the beach at Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
Best viewed large, I think.
Beach Abstract (+PiP)
Yesterday started off damp and miserable, but by late morning the sunshine had come out and it was lovely and warm, so we headed off to Bognor Regis in West Sussex. Whilst my wife wandered round the shops, I headed to the beach. The tide had started to go out and the water was leaving some nice shapes in the sand, so I decided to photograph some.
Please check out the PiP for another abstract. Thanks for looking!
Spring Growth
Grape Hyacinth
Taken in my back garden yesterday afternoon.
I suddenly have several of these growing in my lawn, which weren't there last year.............at least I'll have an excuse not to mow the lawn for a few more weeks. Not that I can at the moment anyway.........it's far too wet and boggy!
Southsea Street Art (+PiPs)
As I've not been out much lately, I thought I'd show you a few more pieces of street art from Southsea, Hampshire.
I love this one by SOUTHSEA ZOO, who is really www.facebook.com/mynameisleila.co.uk
In the First PiP the artist is MIDGE. www.instagram.com/thisismidge/?hl=en-gb
and in the second PiP the artist is ROO. www.artbyroo.com/murals
The main image and the one in the first PiP were painted at the beginning of March as part of "Lady Jam" which was a gathering of the areas finest female street artists.
The one in the second PiP is older and I'm not sure when it was painted.
Thanks for looking and have a good new week!

With part of the walled garden in the foreground. I especially like the trees with the Mistletoe clumps in them.
Better viewed large, I think.
Reflections

Taken at the aggregates wharf, Bedhampton, Hampshire. Not the prettiest of sites, but I liked the reflections.
Have a good weekend everyone. Thank you for all your visits, comments and stars........much appreciated.
The Life House, Community Cupboard (+PiPs)
The Life House is a free food kitchen, resource and support centre that also serves hot food in Albert Road, Southsea, Hampshire. They also provide other essential support to those who need it.
I see this Community Cupboard quite often, usually when I'm hunting for street art in the local area. It always makes me feel sad that such a place is needed in this day and age, and makes me feel lucky that I do not need to use it. It also makes me feel ashamed to live in a so-called civilised country where people cannot afford to buy the basic needs they require to survive :-(

Saved from my garden after it was broken down by heavy rain two or three days ago and photographed indoors.
Hinton Ampner House and Gardens
Hinton Ampner House and Gardens is a National Trust owned property near Winchester in Hampshire, about a 40 minute drive away. We took advantage of a rare sunny day to visit last week, but it was very disappointing. Nearly all the grounds were roped off because of the heavy rains and some of the house was closed due to conservation work. On the plus side we had a nice lunch in the café before driving home again. Better than sitting around indoors though :-))
A history of the place here if you are interested ; www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/hampshire/hinton-ampner/the-history-of-hinton-ampner
