The Royal Oak and the Old Mill

The Royal Oak and the Old Mill
Taken at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire, about an hour or so before high tide.

This was taken on another grey, damp and miserable day........but I needed to get out for some fresh air and this area is one of my "go to" places for a quick walk, as I only live about a 15 minute drive from here. You probably already know that as I have posted lots of photos of this place!

Best viewed large, I think. Thanks for looking!

Love this Keith, very Turneresque, as stunningly beautiful as an old master painting.
Well done my friend! ***********

Always good to see glimpses of our shoreline Keith. This to you is like our old railway linier park walk -very handy and still quite nice! A nice capture despite the grey weather. Well done.

Thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

Wonderful composition and a terrific landscape with a delightful atmosphere!
Surprised to see wheel marks just above the water line, boat launchers or fishermen, I assume.
Nice to have something this lovely close to home, Keith,
Great capture!

Glad you like the view Roger...........I've been visiting there since I was a young child and I love it. It also helps that there are two very nice pubs as well :-))

The Old Mill is accessible by vehicle only at low tide and otherwise only by boat (or on foot if you have waders)! There is also a rowing club which launches from next to the mill.

What a great "go to" place Keith and I love this shot. I will definitely be adding this to my list. I am having some mobility problems at the moment, but trying to improve it. It looks a great place to investigate, and I'm sure you have mentioned a cafe!!! :-))

Keith Burton club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne club
Glad you like this one Rosa..........and thank for your lovely comments. There isn't a café as such, but there are two pubs within a 100 yards of each other that do food and drinks, including coffee. Both are very good and the Royal Oak is reputed to be haunted.

Sorry to hear you're having mobility problems...........I hope you are able to get it sorted out or at least improved. Take care of yourself.
