Bee........about to land (+PiP)

Bee........about to land (+PiP)
A bee in flight and just about to land on a St John's Wort flower..........taken in my garden. Please view large if you have time. Thank you.

The PiP shows a bee already in the flower collecting pollen taken a couple of minutes later. Not sure if it's the same bee.......there were so many around I lost track of it.

ROL/Photo, Nouchetdu38, trester88, Aschi "Freestone" and 23 other people have particularly liked this photo

You have captured the wings beautifully in your main picture Keith. It's superb! How did you get such a smooth background? It shows the flower and bee perfectly.

Love the PiP also. The bee and flower are shown in great detail and the colours are beautiful.
Happy Tuesday.

Lovely comments as always Rosa..........thank you so much.

The background is a bit of old plaster board I used to hide my old and tatty wooden fence. I couldn't get that shot at any other angle.

Awesome captures Keith, an absolute must to be seen extra large, I can almost hear the air traffic controller through that trumpet. The details in both are incredibly sharp and the colour vivid. The pale background in the main pic gives a 3D effect and the bokeh in the PiP in contrast to the main, gives warmth and depth.

I return your 10/10 ... :-))

Both shots are beautifully captured. The main shot of the bee in mid-air is really special. Not a blur from the movement! Top shot, Keith!

Thank you Jenny. There are lots of bees around but fewer hover flies and very few butterflies at the moment.
