Bracket Fungi - A Natural Abstract

Bracket Fungi - A Natural Abstract
Taken in my back garden. This fungi are growing on the decaying stump of an old apple tree. I was struck by the abstract nature of it when getting really close up.

Go large for best effect if you wish. Thanks for looking..............and have a great weekend..!!

You have made a really beautiful picture of the fungi Keith! A fabulous close-up.
You are so good at these unusual shots!
I didn't go where I was hoping to go today, but met my daughter up in Shaftesbury, where it snowed quite hard!

Take care and have a good weekend.

Superbe ! Jean Paul

Hi Keith! I saw this on Explore and had to dive in for a closer look and a big virtual hug and hello! This is just SMASHING! :) What a find! I've never seen this bracket fungus stacked up like this before or, if I have, it's never been perfect enough for a picture. Awesome cropping too. I just love this. You can really see the combination of velvety and smooth appearance too, as well as the gorgeous colors. No wonder it's also called "turkey tail" fungus! :) Nice job. Hope you're doing well my friend, you're always close in my thoughts! I do apologize for not coming by for more visits. I know you understand though! Take care of yourself!

I'm pleased you like this shot. I've been waiting for the fungi on the tree stump to grow big enough for a decent shot..........and hoping that the birds didn't destroy them!

Thank you all for leaving such lovely comments. Much appreciated :-)

Turkey tail a bracket fungi, has antioxidant qualities but I would personally see a GP.
You certainly got the eye for an opportunity shot like this Keith and quiet a gathering on one stump.

Glad you like this one Maurice..............the stump has been there for a couple of years now and this is the best covering of fungi yet.
