The Duck

The Duck
Meet the Duck.......he lives on my car aerial and is handy for spotting the car when parked in a large car park. I was given a bag full of these some years ago and I think this is about the 4th generation!

My wife and I (and the Duck) are away for the next week. My youngest daughter is taking the grandchildren away on a holiday in the countryside and we are going to be house-sitting for them wile they're away. I'm taking my iPad so I may leave the odd comment or two if and when I have the time and inclination, but I certainly won't be posting any photos. I'll catch up with you all when we get back!

Take care y'all and stay safe. The Duck says have a "quacking" week!

Gudrun, Amelia, ©UdoSm, Susanne Hoy and 16 other people have particularly liked this photo

Jean Paul

Love the picture, what a cute ducky! And a great idea for spotting your car! We don't really have that problem with our little IQ, which is so tiny and darling that you spot it instantly. Our red truck stands out too...and when we have the trailer with us...well...there you go! :D

Thanks for the comments about my adorable jumping spider! I am surprised that these little cuties have evaded your masterful eye--but they can be tough to spot. They're always on the move and to the degree that if you have to run and get the camera, it may have disappeared by the time you get back. In my case, I got lucky and it was still there when I returned. They can be found climbing up and down flower stems and marching over blossoms, up fence posts and such. And sometimes you kind of have to be searching for them...and you know how good that works! Good luck...I hope the next time you encounter one you'll get pictures!!

Have a nice time house-sitting and get loads of pictures too!

Quack Quack to you and the duck Keith. I hope you have a quacking time house sitting. I know that using the Ipad for comments on here is not the same as a proper computer :)

Take care. Herb

ps -doesn't the duck vibrate in the wind as you drive causing a humming sensation that you thought was your wife's singing :)

I hadn't noticed any problems with the duck until I drove from Exmouth to Saltash and back last Tuesday to visit my wife's sister. The wind and rain were horrendous and the duck kept getting blown on the roof of the car and making an annoying banging noise, so I had to remove it. Putting it back on today I snapped the aerial off completely :-(

Thanks again everyone.

The duck is currently "resting" in the boot of the car. I snapped the aerial off, so need to get a new one!

What a great idea providing one doesn't snap the aerial off. ;-))))
I hope you are enjoying the house sitting. It's good to have a change of scene especially at this time.

Ha, ha..........I bought a new aerial today. Just got to fit it and then the duck can return to it's rightful position.

We enjoyed the house sitting, and my family were close enough that we could still get together on a couple of days. It's nice to be home again though and in plenty of time for Lockdown 2.0 :-(

Cheers Gudrun. Sadly, since I accidentally snapped the aerial, Duck has been relegated to the boot until I can get a replacement.
