Spotted this soaring overhead after I had just taken the long zoom lens off my camera. I managed to grab this at the long end of my 40-150mm zoom. This is a large crop..!!

Looks a bit better viewed large, on black.

A terrific shot. They are beautiful birds. The closest I saw one was when I was lying on a Pennine hillside getting my breath back. I opened my eyes and it was hovering close above me.
Instant eye contact. I think it was hoping I was dead. No camera of course !

A fine crop! I used to enjoy watching some rather large buzzard families in Cornwall, in the days before I took photos.
