I can't remember what they were looking at, but as I only had a short telephoto lens, whatever it was allowed me to get the shot without being spotted........I was pretty close to them.

They look so happy in their work ... I see them regularly, they've put up their traffic light on the main road just five feet away from the entrance to our cul-de-sac at least six times in the past 12 months, and blow me the red "dig here" paint has appeared again; in exactly the same spot ..

Bonjour Keith. En France ( dans le Sud Ouest) on a deux comiques ("Les chevaliers du fiel") dont certains sketchs ont pour theme les employés municipaux.. Ils ont beaucoup de succés (auprés du public mais aussi auprés des employés municipaux) Cette photo leur plairait beaucoup et les inspirerait. Ils sont de Toulouse. Peut être es tu allé faire un tour par là ? Mais attention pour raconter il faut prendre l'accent de Toulouse. J'aime beaucoup cette photo. (Parfois l'humour Anglais rejoint celui de Toulouse) Bon week end Jean paul

They sound as if they're very funny Jean Paul. This was taken in the city of Winchester in Hampshire. To be fair, these guys were probably on a genuine work break and I've no reason to suspect they hadn't been working hard...............but the opportunity to get this shot was too good to miss! I'm glad you like it too............I've never been to Toulouse, but I think humour like this is pretty common anywhere in the world.........and that can't be a bad thing!
