Thank you for the wonderful comments on my rusty wire around the post picture! :) We are similar in our styles...I do wait for the beep of course but I can see where the focus spot is....MOST of the time. Sometimes I'm sure I had the right spot but I look on my computer and I was off. This is especially problematic the smaller you go. Like, you try to focus on the edge of a tiny flower petal and you get a slightly different spot and that's all it takes for the shot to be ruined if you are using a shallow depth of field. Can't tell you how many thousands of ruined pictures from this, but it's just another reason to take more than one picture of a subject, lol! :D
And of course, the surprises are amazing and a fantastic reward, aren't they? I've found lots of insects and sometimes spiders in my pictures, or a special droplet or something else--and I didn't know it was there to begin with! :) What fun!
Jenny McIntyre club has replied to Janet Brien clubEven if I wear my reading glasses, I still can't see whether the part of the image I want fully focussed is where the indicator which beeps is. So I do take lots of pictures of the same image to make sure I get a good picture!!!! We are indeed "birds of a feather"!!!!
