For the Saturday Self-Challenge group, who's theme this week was to "take a picture of a permanent architectural detail INSIDE your home (apartment or house). Can be some sort of unusual window, door, beam, pipe or stucco."

I try to shoot my challenge pictures on film, but the only problem with that is, if I don't finish shooting the whole roll, I can't develop the film and post my challenge shot. So, I have to try and shoot the whole roll. This week, I shot a 24-exposure roll of black and white film and managed to get 24 different subjects; all related to the theme of this week's challenge. Here are some of the alternates below, and the rest of the 24 can be found in the notes on my main picture above. To challenge myself a little more, I also used 15 different lenses or combinations of lenses with tele-converters on my camera. On a side note, none of the 24 images were cropped. That's why I joined the Saturday Self-Challenge group because I figure, hey, if you're not challenged, what's the point of joining a challenge group?

I was in my element this week! I hate going out if I don't have to, so I prefer taking my challenge shots at home. This week's challenge was perfect in that respect for me.

Wow, you really went over and above for this challenge, Kenny!

I'm really enjoying all of these b/w images. You've got some really great details there. I think the main pic is my favorite. Very nice.

And so I guess you have a dark room for developing! That is great...

I don't have a darkroom, per se, but I wait until it's night and develop my film in the kitchen sink - when it's a "dark" room. Ha ha!

Waw... I still have my film cameras and films... I should think about it one of those days...

I love hearing that people are still developing their film! I never liked that part, much prefering the printing process. I was always terrified I would goof up and then not get anything at all - I know, I"m chicken...

How nice to have a 'dark' enough kitchen!

Wow, Kenny, this is fabulous! You have a lot of interesting architectural features in your house, and I am very glad you were able to use a whole roll of film to capture them!

I'm glad, too! Because I was worried about the one picture of the hanging light, that it might not qualify for the challenge. I was really wanting to link to all 24, not 23. That would have been disappointing to me if I couldn't link to all of them. That's why I was asking the question on the discussion thread.

I love the rounded corners on this. When we were selecting our new home this kind of feature was a selling point for us.

Wow indeed! A whole set of excellent and interesting details! There's so much to find at ones home if you know where to look.

That is so true! If you look closer, you can find a lot of things that could turn out to be interesting just waiting to be photographed.
