Another Brick In The Wall

Another Brick In The Wall
I went by my old house today to see what it looked like and all that was left was a small pile of rubble. I didn't have the heart to even take a picture of it. Two guys were hauling trash away from behind it and said it had first been burned down, then bulldozed into the hole that was left underneath the house. I did grab a souvenir brick. So many memories were tied up in that house.

Tis better not to revisit the past.

I lived in a lot of different houses the first 9 years of my life and I visit them on occasion. The old farm house I lived in for nearly 20 years is gone, but the rest are still there. The house of my favorite mid-century architect was torn down to make room for a new subdivision that was never built and Avriel's house was in great shape at the time.

Interesting link, Norm - I hadn't heard about her. It was too bad they tore down a perfectly good home she had designed. It's sad when bits of historical interest like that have to be removed for various reasons, all related to greed and none because they were falling down or needed lots of repair. I lived in 12 different places before I turned 16.

You got me beat of the number of places you've lived. I lived in seven different places by 2nd grade. Not only did they tear down one of her houses ... they tore down the one she built for herself.

That one should have been declared a historical site and preserved.
