That Sinking Feeling
A Pill Box on the beach at Porlock Weir, the shifting shingle has had a dramatic effect although it has taken around Sixty Years, the headlnd across the bay and in the background is one of a number of places where Exmoor meets the sea,

Monmouth Beach, (Lyme Regis)
On his ill fated attempt to overthrow King James II the Duke of Monmouth landed on this beach 11th June 1685 he was subsequently defeated at the Battle of Sedgemoor on 6th July 1685,
This was the last major battle fought between English forces on English soil.
