I would have said Celandine as well. Whatever the it is, is looks really beautiful in the sunshine against the green leaves. A great find and nicely taken Roger.

Thank you Keith, I think celandine and (Caltha palustris) are the same flower, and I really appreciate the nice comment, pleased with the detail as it was shot with a longish zoom lens.

Lovely marsh marigold. It has five petals and hollow stems. Celandine is smaller and has 8 - 12 shiny petals. I think they are both members of the buttercup family but can't swear to it.
