The former railway goods shed is being transformed to become a community facility. December 2018. Mouse-over for pips.

I guess I'm old fashioned, but I rather feel that volume goods should be moved by rail. Road freight should be for parcels etc. It's good that this is being "repurposed", but a shame that it becomes necessary.

A local problem is that in the past 8-10 years the standard shipping container grew a foot taller and these can't be railed through the tunnels between Brisbane and here. There is apparently a job recently commenced to lower the tracks in the tunnels.

Freight in rail wagons often meant lots of manual handling which can be hard on those who have to do it. Pallet sized lots, maneuvered by forklift, by road often saves double handling and time.

So while I'm a definite supporter of rail transport, you may have noticed this, less strained backs and faster delivery can be gained by road transport for non-bulk goods.
