Flower 0219 4621

Flower 0219 4621
A flower which is about the size of a little finger fingernail on a plant of unknown name. February 2019. Now identified: Tradescantia pallida.
Thank you Sylvain for identifying the plant. It more than thrives in our garden as a border or a gap filler. It seems tolerant of drought, a good attribute here.

Aus Blue, Peter_Private_Box, tiabunna have particularly liked this photo

Thanks for the id and the Wiki link. My wife obtained this from a friend's garden and has used it in various ways.

These photos are of some pieces of the plant in a vase on the table. The flower opened since it was picked. I took it at the closest focus and used the flash.
