233/366 from Cape Hawke

233/366 from Cape Hawke
At last we went to Cape Hawke Lookout. Fabulous views from the 8 metre high tower there. Very windy day, with the tower swaying slightly. Looking towards Forster, One Mile Beach, and Tuncurry, Nine Mile Beach.

Booti Booti National Park, New South Wales, Australia

Cape Hawke was named by Captain James Cook on 12 May 1770, honouring Edward Hawke who was First Lord of the Admiralty.

Positioned right at the northern end of the national park, this superb lookout is worth every step of the 500m hike through regenerating littoral rainforest www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/things-to-do/lookouts/cape-h...
Booti Booti National Park sits on an 8km peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and beautiful Wallis Lake, near Forster.

The view is reached at the very top of the 8 metre tower. Quite a pleasant cleared area at the base of the tower, with a bench. These days, we don't hang around long anywhere, although there were only a few people we encountered on the hike, 4 couples, well spaced out.

The tower gives you a great view. Don't know how I'd be at the top of one that sways. I'm a total coward with heights.
